NJ Association of Verismo Opera to Hold Auditions for Boys to Perform in Gianni Schicchi
The NJ Association of Verismo Opera will hold open auditions on January 7, 2013 for boys to perform the role of Gherardino in the new production of Gianni Schicchi at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, New Jersey.

The NJ Association of Verismo Opera is known for developing the stars of tomorrow. Artistic Director Lucine Amara announces boys, nine to eleven years of age, with a soprano voice are invited to audition for the role Gherardino in the grand, professional opera company's production of Giacomo Puccini's Gianni Schicchi that will be performed on Sunday, April 21 at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) in Englewood, New Jersey.Open auditions will be held on January 7, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at the bergenPAC in the Cabaret Room, 30 North Van Brunt Street. The application deadline is December 31, 2012. An accompanist will be provided.
"We provide youngsters with a stage to present and hone their talents. For those beginning their singing careers, we offer the opportunity to learn essential stage skills, perform with a full orchestra, appear in full costume and much more," said Amara, whose extensive career includes singing 882 onstage performances with the Metropolitan Opera.

The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera has been a part of the New Jersey music scene since 1989.
