Twitter #Bored Hashtag Takeover
2012-12-22
PORTLAND, OR, December 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) When somebody asks you a question, how many times have you just wanted to show them a picture or a video clip and say "This is it"?

Youtopica.com - the new visual answer engine - proves that a picture or video is truly worth more than a thousand words!

Although it was only launched on December 8, Youtopica is already making a big splash online and in the social stream. On December 18 2012, between 6 and 7 PM EST Youtopica organized a twitter takeover of the wildly (sadly) popular #bored hashtag. In just over 38 minutes, 113 tweets were sent to #bored users inviting them to come and explore the infinite scrolling homepage, the interesting images and videos other users have posted and to start visually answering questions themselves, putting #bored firmly where it belongs - in the trash!

Twitter didn't see the funny side and suspended Youtopica's account after 38 minutes of tweeting!

Youtopica is a simplistic yet engaging platform where users are able to answer a series of interesting, pre-defined questions by posting a picture or video to demonstrate their answer - as easy, fun and creative as that. The website is built on top of Facebook - users login with their existing Facebook account and can automatically share their visual answers with all their friends, leveraging Facebook's Open Graph.

The guys behind Youtopica have outlined their inspiration and creativity process in a blog on the website at Youtopica.com/story - which gives a unique insight into the philosophy, concept and ideas that led to Youtopica's launch. The team members believe their story will inspire others to have faith and never give up on their dreams.

Youtopica is a new visual answer engine. Launched on December 8th 2012, the site offers its users the possibility to answer questions with images and videos. For more information on Youtopica or to speak to its creators email us at contact@youtopica.com.
