LONDON, ENGLAND, December 26, 2012 (Press-News.org) Wherever you go in the world one of the main things that most people enjoy is finding out the little differences that make each nation and its people unique. When you choose to stay in a hotel there can often be an element of 'which city am I in?' as most of the major chains pride themselves on providing a homogenous experience in each of their outlets; not matter where in the world they are located.
This is why many people choose to rent an apartment when making a trip to a major city, as it is a perfect way to get an idea of how people actually live on a day to day basis - but what are five of the best traits of British apartments?
1. Better experience
By renting an apartment you can 'get a feel' for the city in a way a hotel stay can never quite offer. Apart from the fact that you may find yourself situated away from the main attractions and in a more residential area, the apartments themselves will have quirks and surprises that can make it a memorable experience.
When it comes to renting London apartments there is a wide range to choose from regarding location and the period of construction. Although there are many brand new purpose built apartments available, as well as many refurbished buildings converted into modern flats, there is also a wealth of more traditional English accommodation in apartments that make up parts of larger houses.
2. Unique features
Often these apartments are located in slightly more residential areas and form part of terraced houses built in the Victorian era; that is to say the late 19th century. This type of building is famous for its high ceilings in each room and often features original fittings like sash windows.
In properties that still have many original features there are often some quirks from a previous period which can be found and which foreign visitors many find charming. Simple things such as two sets of taps on each bath or sink, one for hot water and one for cold, can seem strange to people who are used to modern mixer taps (or faucets). Old fashioned shower heads might be another bathroom quirk that is noticeable.
3. Elegant decor
Because of the high ceilings in Victorian buildings, there is often a piece of decoration called a 'picture rail' which is essentially a piece of thin wood that runs all around the wall just above head height. In older times this would have been where paintings were hung on a combination of hooks and chains, making it easy to move them around and also avoiding making holes in walls for brackets as we might do today.
Elegant decor which makes use of these features is another trait many look for in apartment accommodation, helping to offer something unique for those visiting a vibrant city such as London.
4. Prime location
Of course, the type of accommodation you stay in is just as important as the area of the city itself. Luckily, apartments are typically located in key locations which offer easy access to central attractions whilst being situated in a slightly more reserved and quiet area.
This means you get the benefits of a quiet and relaxing environment in which to stay whilst never being too far from the action should you wish to venture out.
5. Affordability
Last, but by no means least, the price of apartments in Britain is another trait we love. Catering to a variety of budgets, financial restrictions don't have to limit your ability to enjoy yourself during a stay in one of Britain's best apartments.

2012-12-26
As a Chicago Injury Attorney for more than 37 years I marvel at the reluctance of those members of the bar that reject the exchange of pleadings, motions, discovery and correspondence by e-mail. When I began my career, secretaries armed with carbon paper and large erasers was the only method of making multiple copies of documents. Copiers were rare and the pages printed on wet type paper that faded from the moment they were created. It forced most attorneys to carefully hand write documents or face the wrath of a secretary that had to retype everything from scratch. Bicycle ...
