SAN ANTONIO, TX, January 04, 2013 (Press-News.org) Practice Management Institute (PMI) has announced speakers for its National Conference for Medical Office Professionals in New Orleans, May 29-31. The three-day conference will focus on training to improve coding, reimbursement, management and compliance for the small to mid-sized medical office.
Master of Ceremonies, Aric Bostick, will kick off the conference with a look back at changes that have taken place in health care over the past 30 years. Throughout the conference, Bostick will guide participants through an unforgettable presentation aimed at reinvigorating job satisfaction and performance.
Special guests, William E. Kobler MD, Member AMA Board of Trustees, David S. Nilasena, MD, MSPH, MS, Chief Medical Officer for CMS Region VI, and Senator Tom Whatley, Alabama, will provide expert perspectives on today's practice challenges in PMI's town hall panel session.
The conference is comprised of 24 advanced coding, reimbursement, compliance and office management sessions presented by PMI, a trusted source addressing current medical office profitability and productivity. Two pre-conference sessions on May 29 will provide an up-close look at advanced coding and management topics, respectively.
Three learning tracks, May 30-31, will be offered comprised on topics in billing, coding, operations and compliance, led by practice management educators and professionals. The full conference agenda is available on PMI's web site: pmiMD.com.
The event will take place at Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel in the famous French Quarter. Long-time PMI Faculty member, Audrey Coaxum, will host the 2013 New Orleans Conference as Conference Chair.
"The interaction with faculty and participants provides an opportunity for attendees to see what other offices like theirs are doing to solve difficult reimbursement and compliance topics," said Coaxum. "The variety of topics and learning materials received during the conference will thread more meaning and knowledge into all that medical office professionals do in their office."
Up to 18 CEUs will be offered to satisfy annual certification renewal requirements for PMI certified professionals. Attendees will have access to all general and breakout sessions, with breakfast and lunch provided each day. Exhibitors will share product information and giveaways with approximately 300 attendees.
