RALEIGH, NC, January 09, 2013 (Press-News.org) Robert Macia, PE, LEED AP, president of Stewart (http://www.stewartinc.com), one of the largest engineering and landscape architecture design firms in North Carolina, has announced that Richard Penci, PLS, CFS, geomatics project manager at Stewart, has earned his Certified Floodplain Surveyor (CFS) certification. This designation allows him to perform Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) and Letter of Map Revision Based on Fill (LOMR-F) applications for FEMA for review and issuance. The completion of the CFS program allows for the application review and issuance to occur in as little as five business days from receipt of case, rather than the 60 days without the CFS program. The new certification will help expand the firm's geomatics and surveying capabilities and continue to improve the wide range of services it can provide to clients.
Penci, who has been with Stewart for more than five years, has more than 20 years of experience. As geomatics project manager, he works with clients, both internal and external, to help ensure that they are satisfied with current work or upcoming projects. He also works closely with the firm's field crews to help process and draw projects varying from boundary surveys and plats to topographic and as-built surveys.
QUOTES:
"It is an impressive achievement for anyone to merit a CFS certification," said Macia. "I congratulate Richard on his initiative in reaching this goal, and I am pleased that we can offer his expanded services and certification in our work. His tremendous dedication to the industry will help us better meet our clients' needs.
