The Macsata-Kornegay Group Tapped by Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Kevin James
2013-01-23
WASHINGTON, DC, January 23, 2013 (Press-News.org) The Macsata-Kornegay Group, Inc. (TMKG) today announced that it has been retained by Los Angeles mayoral candidate Kevin James to manage his national fundraising efforts, as well as its national LGBT outreach. In that capacity, Amanda Kornegay will serve as Fundraising Consultant for the Kevin James LA Mayor campaign; additionally, Brandon Macsata will serve as an LGBT advisor.

"We're excited to represent Kevin's campaign, as he seeks to bring his reform message to the voters of Los Angeles," said Amanda Kornegay, TMKG's Partner. "As the only Republican in the race, he stands an excellent chance in the upcoming primary and it is incumbent upon us to see to it that he has a well-financed campaign."

ABC7, in collaboration with SurveyUSA, announced the results of their poll regarding the Los Angeles mayoral race. The poll was conducted this past Saturday, January 12th and was completed Tuesday, January 15th. According to the results of the poll, mayoral candidate and former federal prosecutor Kevin James is gaining strong momentum against his opposition. In fact, he is the only candidate who is gaining in the polls.

"These results are a clear indicator that my outsider message of fighting for the working class, demanding accountability, and rooting out corruption at city hall are resonating with the voters of Los Angeles," said Kevin James. "Now with Amanda Kornegay as a member of our fundraising team, we're assured the opportunity to raise the necessary funds that will allow my campaign to spread my message to even more Angelenos."

Kevin James is currently running for Mayor of Los Angeles. According to media coverage, as well as polling, James is considered the only viable City Hall outsider in the field of candidates. Kevin moved to Los Angeles over 25 years ago from Oklahoma to begin his legal career. He has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, litigator at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, and entertainment lawyer. While maintaining his legal practice, James has also contributed much of his time, talents, and resources to the community. James joined the all-volunteer Board of Directors of AIDS Project Los Angeles where he served for six years as Board Vice-Chair and Co-Chair. For the past 10 years James was also a local radio broadcaster. Through his broadcasting career on 790 KABC and 870 KRLA, Kevin has broadened his scope of community involvement, covering the city in unrivaled detail and calling out corruption in LA City Hall. The Mayoral election is March 5, 2013.
