BAD AXE, MI, January 23, 2013 (Press-News.org) Global Lift Corporation would like to caution pool lift purchasers that not all lifts being sold meet the clear deck space requirement set by the Americans with Disabilities Act, or ADA. Some lift models actually block clear deck space.
According to ADA requirements, public and private industry pools must have a minimum of two accessible points of entry by January 31, 2013. At least one point of entry must be a pool lift or sloped entry.
The swimming pool section 1009.2.3 of the ADA laws states a clear deck space parallel with the seat must be provided on the side of the seat opposite the water. To meet ADA compliance standards, the space must be a minimum of 36 inches wide and extended at least 48 inches forward from a line located one foot behind the rear edge of the seat. In addition, the clear deck space should not have a slope steeper than 1:48.
Global Lift Corporation is the nation's largest pool lift manufacturer and the nation's only ISO-9001 certified pool lift manufacturer. All their products are manufactured in the United States.
