BALTIMORE, MD, January 25, 2013 (Press-News.org) The next course for the Government Contracting Institute, "Market Identification Strategies," which takes place on January 29, 2013 is focused on the detailed processes of government contracting. This all day course will help demystify specific aspects involved in marketing a business successfully with the federal government.
Areas covered by the course include identifying your target market, learning the strategies involved in being a prime contractor, a subcontractor, or a teaming partner, the mentor-protege programs, evaluation of opportunities including Requests for Information, Requests for Quotes, Requests for Bids, Sole Source Contracts, the bid/no bid decision making process, purchase thresholds, simplified acquisitions and related legal issues.
These topics will be taught by five speakers, each bringing their own experience and knowledge to the course. These speakers are Keir Bancroft, a government contracts attorney at the law firm of Venable LLP; Tim O'Connor, Senior Vice President of AOC Key Solutions; Tamara Jack, the Associate General Counsel at Logistics Management Institute (LMI); A. Larry Staudmeister, Director of Corporate Business Development at LMI; and Gloria Larkin, President of TargetGov.
"Marketing is one of the least understood areas of successful federal contracting" said Gloria Larkin, President of TargetGov. "Contractors who know the process, know how to identify decision makers and build strong relationships by using a wide variety of tools will see the greatest success in this multi-billion dollar market."
