RALEIGH, NC, January 26, 2013 (Press-News.org) ABC11 Eyewitness News (http://www.abc11.com) will participate in CowParade North Carolina's "Battle for the Cattle" Gala and Auction, benefiting the N.C. Children's Hospital, on Saturday, Feb. 2. Eyewitness News Anchor Barbara Gibbs will emcee the event alongside 94.7 QDR Radio Host J.J. Herr. The gala will take place at the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with the auction beginning at 7:15 p.m. Dustin Rogers of Custom Benefit Auctions will serve as the auctioneer and the Atomic Rhythm All-Stars will provide musical entertainment throughout the evening.
The items up for auction include 60 of the 81 custom-painted and costumed cows that were created by regional artists from 125-pound, life-sized "blank canvas" fiberglass cows and displayed around the Triangle in the CowParade public art exhibit, which is estimated to have attracted more than 500,000 visitors during its three-month exhibition.
