Plustek's DocAction Wins Outstanding Achievement Award from Buyers Laboratory

Plustek Technology, manufacturer of consumer, prosumer and professional imaging devices, announced today its DocAction software won an Outstanding Achievement Award for the Winter 2013 test season from Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI).

2013-01-31
IRVINE, CA, January 31, 2013 (Press-News.org) DocAction is a single-touch scanning utility that simplifies document scanning. DocAction is bundled with all Plustek SmartOffice and MobileOffice document scanners and OpticPro graphics scanners. It allows users to personalize scanning configuration settings and scan documents with the touch of a button and automatically send documents directly to a printer, e-mail, folder or FTP in all common imaging formats including: JPEG, TIFF, and PDF.

"While evaluating scan utilities, we like to look at how easy it is to access profiles, change settings and navigate the general feature set. With DocAction, everything is right at your fingertips. Plus, users have a variety of ways to save information: destinations, templates, profiles, even printers can be customized and saved to help ease the scan process. And adding a little description is a helpful reminder for the end user," said Lisa Reider, BLI's senior product editor for scanners.

When compared with competitive proprietary scan utilities that come bundled with document scanners, Plustek DocAction offers significant advantages in regards to ease of use and general functionality, which helped it earn a BLI "Outstanding Achievement" award for the Winter 2013 test season. The utility offers one screen that contains basically everything a scan operator would need. A list of customizable scan profiles is available to the left of the screen, with each profile recognized by a unique icon. No matter the profile selected, users can access several different pre-set templates to get up and running quickly. Conveniently, each template includes a description of its settings, which can be changed if users choose to reconfigure the template. Plus, users can configure up to ten third-party imaging, as well as specific printers for scan-to-copy jobs.
