MURFREESBORO, TN, February 02, 2013 (Press-News.org) The office of Drs. Anthony Ditcharo and Warren Johnson recently held their first annual coat drive. With the generous help of their patients, it was a big success!
Ditcharo and Johnson Orthodontics collected new and gently used winter coats and jackets during the month of December. In return for a coat, patients were given "points" that they could then redeem for various prizes in the office. In total, over 50 coats (and one pair of shoes) were donated to Greenhouse Ministries of Murfreesboro. Greenhouse is a local charity serving the Rutherford county area. Each year they reach over 39,000 underprivileged individuals and families, providing assistance with food, clothing, job skill training, adult education classes, and counseling.
"We wanted to help give something back to the community during the Christmas season, and this turned out to be a really great idea," stated Dr. Ditcharo. "We considered hosting a food drive. However, we had our patients vote through our office's Facebook page, and a coat drive was the winner," he said. "We plan to do this every year." His hope is that an annual coat drive will help fulfill an unmet need in the community.
At Ditcharo & Johnson Orthodontics, Dr. Anthony Ditcharo and his team provide individualized, comprehensive orthodontic treatment to patients of all ages. By creating a balance between the teeth and the supporting features of the face, they create smiles that will last a lifetime. Their goal is to provide a treatment that enhances the overall quality of life for each patient. As a Premier Provider of Damon System braces, Dr. Ditcharo's goal is to create a beautiful, broad smile, in as few appointments as possible.
