MetroGistics Donates More than $25K to Local Charities

Includes $5,500 to Employee-Designated Nonprofits

2013-02-02
ST. LOUIS, MO, February 02, 2013 (Press-News.org) In February 2012, vehicle shipping company MetroGistics implemented its Metro Giving Back Program as a way to give back to the local community. A key component of the program is a unique employee-driven selection process in which each month a different employee gets to select a local charity to receive $500 from the company.

The employee component is part of the company's overall charitable giving efforts that totaled $25,750 in 2012. That includes the more than $18,000 MetroGistics raised at its October Monster Mash fundraiser for Stray Rescue of St. Louis and Project VIP (Very Important Pets), and sponsorship of numerous events for the Humane Society of Monroe County.

In 2012, MetroGistics made $500 donations to the following employee-designated charities:

YMCA of Southwest Illinois - selected by Michelle Burton
The Marc Bulger Foundation - Andrew Strasser
Shriners Hospital for Children - Shelly Lynn
Stray Rescue of St. Louis - Jeremy Cope
The Peace Pantry - Jesse Chilton
Special Olympics, Missouri - Chad Range
Responder Rescue - Brittany Twist
Gateway Pet Guardians - Alisha Bray
Grace Hill Patch Food Pantry - Mike Dzurian
STLMPD Police Athletic League - Angie Lynn-Billiter
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - Elliott Meyers

Additionally, Dustin Ruch selected the West County YMCA to receive $500 from MetroGistics in January 2013.

"When Scott Naz and I founded MetroGistics in 2010, we knew from the start that one of our core company values would be community involvement," said William Billiter, managing partner. "We love supporting charities that help so many in our local communities."

"It's great to work for a company that values me and my interests by donating $500 to a cause that means so much to me," said Alisha Bray, west coast account analyst. "I don't know of many companies that do that, and it's very gratifying. I love it here."
