Watch TV Episodes Online? Cable TV Online is Here according to Abby Rose Services

The convenience of being able to watch TV episodes online is available to everyone. You can now watch cable TV online. Sometimes it is free and sometime you have to pay, but the fact remains you can watch TV on your computer.

2010-10-23
TROY, MI, October 23, 2010 (Press-News.org) Did you know you can watch TV episodes online? That's right, cable TV online. Most are even free. Did you miss last weeks episode of The Office? How about the HBO hit Entourage? "What, you forgot to DVR it too?" Well, you are lucky you are living in the year 2010. You can easily watch past episodes of these shows on right on your PC or Mac.

Traditional "Free" TV
Before satellite TV and cable TV, we all got our TV programing for free. Pictures would come through the air, down trough your antenna, and into your television set. The networks paid for the programing by selling advertising during the show.

It pretty much works the same way now when watching a TV show on you computer. ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX allow you to watch their programing online for free whenever you choose. You still have to watch the commercials, but the advantage is your flexibility of when you watch your show. All you have to do is go to there website and they will have a listing of all the shows available for you to watch. Many will even allow you to watch episodes from years past. Even networks that you once could only view if you paid for cable TV, like TBS, TNT, or Food Network, now have free programing on their websites.

Paid TV Channels
It is a little different when it comes to channels that we traditional have had to pay for. These would include channels like HBO or Showtime. They have set it up in a way that allows you to watch the programs online, but only if you have a subscription through your cable or satellite provider.

You Do Not Need Additional Software
Their are companies out there that will claim you have to have special software to view these channels on your computer. That is simply not true. Most of these software programs will just pull list of channels from directories and organize them for you. You can easily do this yourself.

The only "program" you might want to use is Windows TV. It is FREE and it allows you to watch all of the free channels from one place instead of going back and forth between the different network website. You by no means need it, but it is there if that is something you think you would use.

Other Websites
You may have heard of Hulu or Fancast or one of the many other website that allow you to watch TV online. These may or may not always be legit. You need to be sure that these sites are not breaking any kind of copyright laws. Check it out before you use them or just stick with the network websites and you should be fine.

That is it. If you didn't know it, you know it now: you can watch TV episodes online. It really is a great convenience if you like watching TV, but do not want to schedule you life around it.
