DUBAI, UAE, August 12, 2010
Online in Dubai, UAE, August, 2010 - After the success of phase 1 and soft opening in December 09, the UAE Sport Guide phase 2 has been completed and the website is being introduced to the public. The UAE Sport Guide is your one stop sporting hub for sporting news and event reports in the United Arab Emirates.
With the United Arab Emirates emerging as a global sporting hub for most of the year it was only a matter of time before the UAE Sport guide and Sport portal was launched, and with phase 2 finished it was about time we announced it to the world.
Every week there is sports news from within the UAE, ranging from new events, sponsorship announcements and press conferences. The UAE Sport Guide will have News, reports, interviews and some unique ideas will be part of the digital sporting revolution with some great expansions and ideas planned which will be added throughout the year.
The 7 Emirates within the UAE have many different types of sporting activities couple with the climate and terrain the UAE can offer a diverse and multi sport environment for everyone to enjoy.
Dubai has been prominent as the sport leader of all the Emirates with many established sporting events on the calendar including the now globally recognised Rugby 7's, The Dubai Tennis Championships and the Dubai Desert Classic to name a few. Coupled with the Motorsport, Watersports and the Marathon, there have also been a some more high profile additions to the calendar with the Dubai World Championships Race to Dubai finale in 2009, the Football 7's and the Fifa world beach Football championships.
We have also seen the opening of a couple of world class sporting facilities in Dubai with the Dubai sports city cricket stadium, Meydan Horse racing facility and Jumeirah Golf Estates the outlook looks very bright. If Dubai can ride out the financial storms which are well documented and push forward, there is a good chance it will emerge as a sporting centre of excellence and magnet, which frankly it is already well on the way to becoming.
Abu Dhabi is also starting to throw it's huge weight behind the emergence of sport with the opening in 2009 of the acclaimed Yas F1 Circuit, Yas Island and Saadiyat which will all have wide and varied sporting facilities. Abu Dhabi have more plans to expand on sport so watch this space in the next few years as there will be some exciting things happening in the Emirate.
The other Emirates all have sport and sporting events staged on a regular basis. Watersports, Rallying and Marathon's are featured throughout them all including the RAK half Marathon, Power-boating in Sharjah and cricket tournaments.
