LateRooms.com - See Through Labyrinths While in Barcelona

Barcelona hosts an intriguing collection of works relating to the way humans have been fascinated with labyrinths throughout history.

2010-10-24
BARCELONA, SPAIN, October 24, 2010 (Press-News.org) Art enthusiasts booked into the cheap hotels Barcelona has available could enjoy a fascinating exhibition called Through Labyrinths while they are visiting the Catalan city.

The display represents a comprehensive look at how labyrinths have been portrayed in various mediums throughout history.

Visitors will find out more about how our fascination with such structures reveals more about the human condition and learn about the different types of mazes that exist.

The exhibition is running at the Centre de Cultura Contemporania de Barcelona (CCCB) until January 9th 2011.

Curated by Oscar Tusquets, the collection features audio-visual and interactive works for people to engage with, making the experience fun as well as educational.

"The exhibition comprises a series of very varied spaces illustrated by works with a variety of different sources, formats, authors and periods, such as archaeological pieces, engravings, photographs, maps, screenings and models," explained the venue.

Tourists should be sure to check the programme of events at the complex, since there are often lectures, debates and shows on.

Opening hours at the CCCB are from Tuesdays to Sundays between 11:00 and 20:00 local time, except for Thursdays, when the building shuts at the later time of 22:00.

Admission costs EUR4.50 (GBP4) for adults and EUR3.40 for concessions.

For more information on this event visit the CCCB website or contact the venue on +34 93 306 41 00.
