Qnext Announces a Breakthrough Facebook Solution for Secure and Private Media Access and Sharing with NETGEAR

Within Facebook, users can now securely access and share videos, music, pictures, and files privately without using uploads or links

TORONTO, CANADA, March 20, 2013

Qnext Corp., a social personal cloud technology developer today announced the release of Qnext for Facebook with NETGEAR's new Smart Network Routers, Gateways and Network-Attached Storage (NAS) products.

With Qnext, NETGEAR Smart Network Routers and NAS device users can remotely access their content and anyone else's content directly from within Facebook and share any of their content with Facebook friends, securely and privately. The shared content is not hosted on Facebook and the user has complete control of access rights and privileges to the shared content. Qnext works entirely within Facebook with full access to one's Facebook friends list while maintaining the Facebook paradigm for messaging, like, look and feel, etc. Qnext allows users to easily and quickly share high resolution photos, high definition videos and other files of any size.

"At last Facebook users have complete control of their content's destiny on Facebook. Qnext connects user's devices and cloud services to their Facebook account and provides secure access to their private content for their own use or to selectively share content with Facebook friends privately," said Anthony DeCristofaro, President and CEO of Qnext. "Qnext expands Facebook content sharing to new levels with NETGEAR while adding a compelling reason for businesses to use Facebook to access and share content privately and securely."

What distinguishes Qnext from what came before is its ability to organize and manage shared content securely. Qnext doesn't use "uploads" and "web links" to provide access to shared content. Instead, Qnext connects users to their content storage locations and employs patented Social Personal Cloud technology to enable seamless social collaboration to remotely and efficiently access, share and manage shared content as well as participants.

No shared content is stored on Facebook. When content is shared, Qnext stores only the path to the shared content without moving it from its original location. A user can create and share as many files of any size from multiple storage locations and can add or remove content, or who has access to it at any time, remotely from within Facebook. The sharing is done securely using SSL encryption with trusted certificates to ensure user's data is never accessible outside of its control.

"Together with Qnext, ReadyNAS storage acts as a personal cloud allowing consumers and small businesses to easily access files for sharing on Facebook" said Matt Pahnke, Sr. Marketing Manager for Storage at NETGEAR. "Qnext's breakthrough technology will enable over one billion Facebook users to use ReadyNAS to securely access and share digital content from anywhere privately."
