GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA, October 27, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra are set to perform their latest production, Kaleidoscope, at Robina Community Centre next month.
Culture vultures staying in Gold Coast hotels on November 27th and 28th 2010 will have the opportunity to witness this unique concert, which is a fusion of orchestral music, opera, fashion and classic cars.
The organisers explained that kaleidoscope means "looking at beautiful forms" in its native Greek and said they have attempted to replicate this definition in the show.
Mark Turpin has been lined up to conduct the orchestra, with classic pieces such as Suite in D for Trumpet and Strings by Handel and a medley from the opera Porgy and Bess set to be included.
Furthermore, guests at Surfers Paradise hotels who attend the occasion will get the added benefit of watching the annual Youth Concerto Performance Opportunity, which will see Alex Alexus play Vivaldi's The Gold Finch with the backing of the 60-piece orchestra.
Four classic cars will be positioned in the Robina Community Centre auditorium throughout and will act as soloists during the concert, the organisers added.
The Saturday 27th show will kick off at 19:30 local time, while proceedings will get underway at 14:30 the following day.
Admission for either day costs A$25 plus booking fee.
