Turkish Developer Tops OPP Awards for Excellence 2010

Horizon Sky was back in the limelight with a Gold Award for 'Best Developer Turkey' in the Overseas Property Professional (OPP) Awards for Excellence 2010.

2010-10-27
OJEN, SPAIN, October 27, 2010 (Press-News.org) With no time for the trophy for 'Best Development Turkey - Highly Commended' in the International Property Awards in association with Bloomberg Television to gather any dust, Horizon Sky was back in the limelight with a Gold Award for 'Best Developer Turkey' in the Overseas Property Professional (OPP) Awards for Excellence 2010.

Daren Wallbank for developer Signature International, collected the accolade in front of an ExCeL audience and commented, "Against the background of a tough economic climate we're thrilled with the Best Developer Turkey win and truthfully think it's well-deserved. Within its price range, Horizon Sky is a class above anything being built in the Bodrum region. For less than GBP90,000 we deliver larger than average two bedroom duplex apartments displaying minimalist architecture, superlative build qualities and a high specification as expected from Galliard Homes, our major shareholder. Not to mention access to an endless list of onsite facilities from a beachside Clubhouse to a rental management office. Sales are brisk for us as we believe that we have the formula spot on and are delighted that the OPP Awards judges agree to the extent of presenting us with a top-level Gold."

This year, OPP gave an insight into the judges' thoughts by releasing a short extract from their remarks. For Horizon Sky this read, "The Horizon Sky - Turkey entry for Best Developer stood above the rest in so many ways. Credibility and buyer confidence is paramount in today's market and this development has struck an effective balance between contemporary and modernist architecture to introduce a new level of luxury to Turkey ... whilst combining this with the trust and confidence Galliard Homes brings to the development."

Held at the combined Property Investor Show and OPP Live 2010 in London's ExCel, the ceremony on 15 October was well attended by leading industry experts from across the globe. OPP is known to be the world's number one forum for property professionals and the Awards have high standing in the market. The scheme covers all aspects of the industry from developers to lawyers, foreign exchange companies to estate agents and its principle focus is to reward and recognise excellence. Judges commend companies and individuals who work hard to produce high quality products and services and a win inspires confidence both internally and externally to the business. All award entries are carefully vetted by a panel of qualified judges, all of whom are recognised leaders in the industry.

About Horizon Sky
Some 35 minutes from Bodrum, on the sundrenched slopes of the Bay of Güllük dipping into the Aegean Sea, Horizon Sky is an upscale community of apartments, penthouses and villas - all with private gardens or terraces. It's the first resort in the area to feature an American-style Country Clubhouse which flanks a private beach. This facility houses a rooftop restaurant, sports bar and cafe, fitness suite, Spa, heated indoor and two outdoor pools. Meanwhile mini golf, several tennis courts, a grocery store, 11 more swimming pools and various Mexican, water and Japanese relaxation gardens are scattered throughout the resort.

A jetty and private water-taxi are in operation to deliver residents and guests across the Bay to Güllük town, which is a swift ten-minute drive from the International Airport, whilst plans are going through the approval process for an 80-berth marina. This asset will further enhance the investment and rental potential of Horizon Sky. An on-site reception and concierge alongside a rental management office are also on hand to maximize occupancy throughout the year.

Prices at Horizon Sky start from EUR98,000 euros (approx. GBP86,889GBP) for an 87m² duplex two bedroom apartment. Customers can name a deposit from 20%, name their preferred term (from five to ten years) and Horizon Sky will adapt a plan to suit. Monthly payments can be increased or decreased as necessary, as much as 45% can be delayed for five years or the entire amount can be paid off early. The developer is also offering ten-year finance plans at a rate of 4.9% interest, around 2% below a Turkish mortgage rate.
