RALEIGH, NC, March 29, 2013 (Press-News.org) William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that the institution's campus magazine, The Peace Bulletin, has won the Grand Award by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Southeast District III. Presented at the 2013 CASE District III Conference, The Peace Bulletin was recognized in the category of Design for Print and Digital Periodicals for its imagination, original approaches and execution excellence in the realm of graphic design. With more than 1,000 entries, the university was among only 55 recipients of the grand award recognition.
After undergoing an extensive redesign in early 2012, the summer 2012 issue of The Peace Bulletin unveiled a refined design approach which specifically highlighted the new university branding. Led by Ryan McGuire, graphic designer and Lauren Gerber, director of communications and outreach at William Peace University, the magazine shifted its focus to include an increased emphasis on faculty, students, staff and alumni-based stories as a way to recognize all those who play an integral role in promoting the mission and vision of the institution.
Committed to advancing and supporting educational and professional institutions throughout the Southeast, CASE District III focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of higher education. The organization's efforts span across education and include alumni relations, fundraising initiatives, internal and external communications, marketing efforts and professional advancement.
QUOTES:
"It is an honor to be recognized by CASE District III as a Grand Award recipient of the redesign efforts of our treasured campus magazine - The Peace Bulletin," said Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University. "We could not be more proud of The Peace Bulletin redesign, as it truly stands as representation of our institution and the direction we are headed, while it continues to showcase the faces behind WPU and those who have left their mark on this great campus."
