SANTA FE, NM, March 29, 2013 (Press-News.org) Master Artist/Photographer Harvey Lloyd, known as the Indiana Jones of adventure and aerial photography, unveils his latest cutting edge collection of digital camera paintings. The show entitled, "Las Vegas Deconstructed" opens at Artistic Lifestyles Art Gallery in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 13, 2013 through May 4, 2013.
Harvey Lloyd's new work takes still film sight and awareness from the 200-year history of photographic "realism" and propels it to a quantum level in his digital camera. Lloyd has invented a complex single exposure process using quantum effects to make each image.
Lloyd is a pioneer in aerial and adventure photography, having traveled over a million and a half miles during photo missions on the seven continents. He has hung out of helicopters and light planes around the globe and flown "The Dead Man's Curve" (too low and slow for safe descent) from Hong Kong, Botswana, Alaska and Ayers Rock to Venice, Israel, Victoria Falls, Rio, Monaco, Antarctica and Tahiti. Lloyd's motto: "If your life bores you, risk it".
Awards
Mr. Lloyd is a multiple award winner in almost every category of the visual arts through his aerial photography, picture books, documentary films and multi-screen shows. A few these are the Pacific Area Travel Association's Gold medal for photography of China, The Art Director's Club Gold and Silver medals for the Royal Viking Line advertising campaign, a Cine Golden Eagle, a Mercurio d'Oro from the Venice Industrial Film Festival for PORTRAIT OF A RAILROAD shown at MOMA, NYC, and the Grand Award—Photo Essays from the German magazine Bilderzeit.
Lloyd used his "quantum" digital photography techniques to create a new painterly series LAS VEGAS DECONSTRUCTED. The giant 60" x 40" archival images create a never before seen, unique and colorful view of the great desert city of lights and luck. They will be issued in limited editions of fifty for each image.
His busy studio http://www.harveylloyd.com, art directed and curated by the talented artist Ivana Lovincic, creates revolutionary new "quantum digital camera works such as BREAKING THE LIGHT, MOONLIGHT SONATAS, and YELLOWSTONE: The Devil's Volcano. Born in New York City, and formerly based in Manhattan, Lloyd now works from his studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he explores, reinvents and races beyond the boundaries of the traditional art of still film photography.
"Harvey Lloyd has entered a new creative phase of his life. He is using his photographic mind and his computer skills to create images that are unlike anything ever seen before. He is exploring new horizons in the creative world and producing spectacular creations that dazzle the eye." --DAVID FINN, Chairman & President, Ruder Finn.
