Breast Cancer Survivor Lou Gideon Releases 'Wrap' Video For The Tress-Less Chemo Babe

When women are in for the fight of their life battling cancer, they need everything they can to hang onto hope, their spirit and well-being. Lou Gideon is trying to empower women with self-esteem boosting hope as something to wrap their head around.

2013-04-03
LOS ANGELES, CA, April 03, 2013 (Press-News.org) As an actress, Lou Gideon whose career has spanned soaps to sitcoms and film (and is most known for her villainous role as Danielle Atron from Nickelodeon's The Secret World of Alex Mack), learned early on to adapt to new roles which took her out her comfort-zone. When stricken with Stage 2B ductal invasive breast cancer in March, 2009 she realized it was time to embrace a new chapter. While there may not yet be an award category for Best New Wrap Artist even though awards season has come and gone, Author-Actress-Breast Cancer Survivor Lou Gideon is taking on her role as Wrap Artist by helping women going through chemotherapy get ready for their close-up as they take on the most challenging role of their lives: cancer survivors. Gideon has released a new wrap video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udSLCHxHIoc to support her new book, That's a Wrap! 29 Easy and Elegant Head Wrapping Styles for the Tress-less Chemo Babe. Written specifically for women facing chemotherapy related hair loss, That's a Wrap! supports, educates and entertains as Gideon walks her readers through this challenging time. The book is available on Amazon Kindle, Apple's iPad, Nook and Kobo as well as available through Gideon's website: http://www.headwrapbook.com

Cancer Survivor, Tina Gross who co-stars in this demonstration video says, "This has made getting dressed to go out so much easier! And it's so comfortable - I don't even realize it's on my head most of the time, and because of the coolness of the materials, I don't need to take it off for hot-flashes, like I did with everything else. Another great aspect of this wrap is that my sister, who has hair, started using the base wrap at night to keep her hair in place. A lot of African-American Women wrap their heads at night and she says that this is the best material and wrapping method that she's found - for long or short hair, too!"

Many women going through the process of chemotherapy have wrapped their heads around now being able to embrace the experience of going bald with more confidence and Tina Gross is not the only one who has felt a new outlook. "Our patients appreciate Lou's generosity in sharing her ideas and techniques to benefit others going through the same appearance issues," shares Janet S. McCloskey, Associate Director, Special Programs, MD Anderson.

While Gideon's journey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWiZNlG3cHc was a challenging one, it is one which inspired her to chronicle her experience, write a song about it and write a book in order to help women reclaim their spirit.
