LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND, August 23, 2010
FootyMascot.com in association with the 23 Foundation is providing the opportunity for young fans to become a mascot at Jamie's Testimonial on the 4th September. FootyMascot.com is auctioning live online 20 of the mascot places available on the day, including one with Jamie! The auctions will run until mid-day on 30th August and there are also 2 of the mascot places being given away in a free draw. Every person who registers on FootyMascot.com until the auctions close will be entered into the free draw.Jamie Carragher said; "This is a great opportunity for supporters of both teams to win a dream day whilst donating to the local community. All of the proceeds from the auctions will be going to the 23 Foundation to be distributed back into communities across Merseyside."
Steve Moore, Commercial Director of FootyMascot.com enthused "The only way to guarantee to walk out at Anfield with a legend is to win one of our auctions, but by holding the free draw every child on Merseyside has the chance to win the most special day, at a totally unique event, and it takes less than a minute to register!!"
It is hoped over GBP1 million will be raised on the day for the 23 Foundation to deliver support to children and young people across Merseyside. The 23 Foundation, administered by the Community Foundation for Merseyside, will distribute grants strategically to meet the needs of the local community and make the greatest possible positive impact on people's lives.
Cathy Elliott, Chief Executive of the Community Foundation for Merseyside, who administer the 23 Foundation, says; "The Community Foundation for Merseyside is one of the UK's leading foundations and is proud to be working with Jamie and the 23 Foundation. Jamie's work in the local community even before the testimonial highlights Merseyside's philanthropic culture and we hope this can be a platform to draw attention to the next generation of philanthropists who continue to achieve positive social change in our communities."
