Cosmetic Surgery Associates of New York Offers New Fraxel Laser
2013-04-05
HARRISON, NY, April 05, 2013 (Press-News.org) Cosmetic Surgery Associates of New York (CSANY) has expanded its repertoire of skin care services with the addition of the Fraxel Dual 1550/1927 laser. The laser is available for skin resurfacing and skin tightening in New York at each of the practice's 4 locations.

"We are excited about this new technology," says Dr. Samuel J. Beran, a plastic surgeon in New York City at Cosmetic Surgery Associates of New York. "Fraxel is top of the line in cosmetic medical lasers, and we're excited to provide our patients with the remarkable skin rejuvenation made possible by the Fraxel laser."

Fraxel is a product of Solta Medical, provider of other industry-leading products, including Thermage , Liposonix and VASER Lipo . The Fraxel Dual 1550/1927 is a non-ablative laser treatment. The numbers 1550 and 1927 refer to the light energy emitted from the device, measured in nanometers. Non-ablative indicates that the skin is left intact and functional.

"The non-ablative method of laser skin resurfacing enables us to correct mild to severe skin damage in a gentler way," says Dr. Joshua A. Greenwald of CSANY. "And the variance in wavelengths provides versatility in treatment planning. The results are significant, and patients can get back to work and life as usual a lot faster than with traditional CO2 lasers."

Regarding versatility, Dr. Chrisian I. Guzman agrees. "Fraxel gives us greater flexibility in our treatment options," says Dr. Guzman. "Not only does it complement our existing treatment offerings, it's a versatile device in its own right. We're able to treat a wide variety of skin conditions, from aging skin to scars. And it is safe and effective for all skin types."

The FDA cleared the Fraxel Dual 1550/1927 system for a variety of treatments, including lines and wrinkles such as crow's feet, age spots, sun damage, actinic keratosis (a precancerous skin condition), melasma (uneven dark patches on the face), surgical scars, acne scars and other surface scars. The laser penetrates damaged skin, stimulating the re-growth of new, healthier skin and collagen.

In addition to non-surgical Fraxel Dual 1550/1927 laser treatments, Cosmetic Surgery Associates offers other non-surgical treatments and plastic surgery in Westchester County, Manhattan and Putnam County.

Cosmetic Surgery Associates of New York is a group of 3 board-certified plastic surgeons who offer a wide range of plastic surgery procedures and non-surgical cosmetic treatments. With degrees from Albany Medical College, Ponce School of Medicine, and Emory University, these surgeons have years of training and education. They specialize in breast enhancement, facial rejuvenation, and body contouring procedures such as tummy tuck and liposuction.
