Fuentek President To Participate In Webinar On Open Innovation Best Practices For University TTOs

APEX, NC, April 06, 2013 (Press-News.org) Fuentek, LLC (http://www.fuentek.com/), a local consulting firm that provides intellectual property (IP) and technology transfer services, has announced that President Laura Schoppe will serve as a panelist for a webinar hosted by Technology Transfer Tactics on Open Innovation Best Practices For University Tech Transfer on Friday, April 19 at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

Schoppe, together with Charles Johnson-Bey, Ph.D., corporate open innovation program manager for Lockheed Martin Corporation, and Kevin Wozniak, executive director of the Office of Industry Engagement at Georgia Institute of Technology, will define open innovation from the corporate, university and government agency perspective. The panel will also discuss the multiple models of open innovation and identify risks associated with open innovation agreements, in addition to discussing other growing trends in university tech transfer.

With nearly 20 years of experience in IP management, Schoppe has established an impressive track record of success in helping university, corporate and government clients manage their technology proactively, efficiently and effectively. For example, she developed a successful systematic procedure at NASA for identifying "spin-in" partners for collaborative R&D. She also has led major technology transfer projects at leading universities, and Fortune 500 companies have sought her advice on strategic planning related to their intellectual assets. She has presented and written extensively on open innovation-related topics, beginning with papers at the 2005 and 2006 International Astronautical Congress. She currently serves on the strategic advisory board for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North Carolina State University.
