FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, April 06, 2013 (Press-News.org) On Friday, May 3, Miami Dolphins alumni Shawn Wooden and NFL alum Ki-Jana Carter will host Swing for Kids' Sake, a charity golf tournament benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County. The event begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 am at the Weston Hills Country Club, a private equity championship club located in Weston and designed by Robert Trent Jones. Club accolades include hosting the PGA Honda Classic, Dan Marino Celebrity Invitational, LPGA Chrysler Plymouth Tournament of Champions and various other USGA Qualifying Events.
Participants will enjoy a round of golf on the championship course with contest holes including two hole-in-one opportunities to win a new car, furnished by JM Family Enterprises and AutoNation. Players will also have the opportunity to golf with a Former Professional Football Player as part of the VIP foursome package.
Following a morning of golf, Swing for Kids' Sake also includes a gourmet luncheon, awards, silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind items and a 1 in 100 chance raffle for a 7 day Caribbean Cruise with ocean view aboard one of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line luxury ships. All the proceeds from the event will go directly to providing children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentorship relationships with a caring adult.
