Annapolis-based Investment Manager Wins Global Emerging Markets Fund Award

The director of Annapolis-based investment management firm Hopkins Investment Management has received his third mutual fund award for a South African emerging markets fund.

2013-04-11
ANNAPOLIS, MD, April 11, 2013 (Press-News.org) An emerging markets fund managed by local investment manager Rob Spanjaard has just won a third Raging Bull award for top performance in the mutual fund industry.

Demonstrating the global scale of Spanjaard's investment abilities, the award covers funds in South Africa that are approved by the Financial Services Board. The winning REZCO Value Trend Fund provided a return of almost 30 percent over the past year. This particular fund is not available to U.S. investors.

Spanjaard serves as a director of Hopkins Investment Management LLC (HIM), an Annapolis-based Investment management firm. One of the firm's areas of expertise is that of serving women in various types of wealth transition such as divorce, death of a spouse, sale of a business or an inheritance.

Says Spanjaard, "The Raging Bull award was for risk-adjusted return, which means getting the best returns for the level of risk taken. This is the same philosophy used by Hopkins Investment Management for its clients. While Rezco is a separate entity from HIM in Annapolis, as a director for HIM, we have a similar strategy and consideration for our clients when dealing with their finances."

Hopkins Investment Management is a fee-only financial planning and investment management firm serving the Mid-Atlantic area including Washington, D.C., New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland. For more information, visit http://www.hopkinsim.com.
