This North American premiere follows closely on the heels of the documentary's celebrated World and European premieres at International Film Festival Rotterdam and Dubai International Film Festival. The following week Death Metal Angola will make it's South American premiere at the celebrated Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI). The film is a co-production between CABULA6 and Coalition Films, directed and produced by Jeremy Xido, produced by Joe Castelo and executive produced by David Gallagher.

Death Metal Angola is an intricate portrait of the rise of extreme metal music in Angola, as its people struggle to rise above the aftermath of decades of war. The documentary tracks Wilker Flores and Sonia Ferreira's dream - to stage Angola's first-ever national rock concert, bringing together members from different strands of the Angolan hardcore scene from different provinces - as it unfolds in fits and starts against the bombed out and mined backdrop of the formerly stately Huambo. Rubble and deconstructed spaces provide scenic reminders of why hardcore music has gained a foothold.
