Montessori International School Hosts Free Open House April 27

Parents interested in learning more about Montessori education are invited to a free open house, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Montessori International School, 2401 E. Brown Road in Mesa.

MESA, AZ, April 15, 2013 (Press-News.org) Parents interested in learning more about Montessori education are invited to a free open house, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Montessori International School, 2401 E. Brown Road in Mesa.

In addition to tours of the campusl and showcasing examples of the student's work, the school's AMI-certified Montessori instructors will explain the basics of Montessori education and why the curriculum has been so successful with children for more than 100 years. There will also be hands-on art and science activities for visiting children to enjoy.

Montessori International School includes: a toddler house for babies 4 to 18 months; a toddler community for tots 18 months to 2 ½ years; three primary classes for children ages 2 ½ to 6; lower elementary for students 6 to 9 and upper elementary for youth 9 to 14.

MIS is an AMI-certified Montessori school in Mesa. The school currently occupies two campuses located on Gilbert Road and Brown Road, a toddler community next to the Brown Road campus (opened in 2003), and classrooms in Gilbert on Gilbert Road south of Elliot Road.
Hundreds of children have grown and developed through MIS's programs, and many now contribute as adults in the community.

The MIS teaching staff is led by Therese Kestner, B.A., M.Ed, AMI certified and specializing in learning disabilities. She has taught and directed Montessori schools for the past 40 years.
