BWC Management & Consulting Celebrates its 10th Anniversary with Super Tuscans and Burgundies

As hard as it is to believe, it was 10 years ago this April that BWC Management & Consulting opened its doors in Hampstead, London. Advising high net worth individuals on the investment potential of the fine wine market.

LONDON, ENGLAND, April 17, 2013 (Press-News.org) As hard as it is to believe, it was 10 years ago this April that BWC Management & Consulting opened its doors in Hampstead, London. Advising high net worth individuals on the investment potential of the fine wine market.

It must not be forgotten that at the time of the company's inception, little was known about the real potential of investment grade wines. BWC Management & Consulting have helped to pioneer and bring this market to the forefront of investor awareness. Today they are in full e-commerce mode and have affiliates in seven countries, including the U.K., China and US, and more are coming soon.

"We have had a lot of ups and a few downs over the years but such is the way of the markets. In a reasonably short business life as independent fine wine investment advisors, we have become known for our strong views; sometimes inspired, sometimes contrarian and of course, sometimes profitable! But always well researched and always well intentioned. These strong views have enabled us over the last decade to guide our clients to building profitable portfolios - a decade in which many investors in many markets have lost money," says Denise Williams, Head of Private client sales for the last 10 years.

BWC believes it has not achieved its success alone. First and foremost Williams acknowledges their team of advisors, "they work tirelessly to help our clients make informed decisions, whether buying or selling. Then there are our partnerships with some of the world's most prominent figures in the wine trade; suppliers, merchants and negociants - in many respects they have been the fuel in our rocket booster. Last but not least, there is the client, trusting in our recommendations and allowing us to guide a segment of their investment portfolio. The trust placed in us is never underestimated and never taken for granted."

At a recently trade fair in Hong Kong, after 10 years of trading in solely Bordeaux classified growths, BWC Management & Consulting announced it was introducing other wine growing regions to its lists of products. "Rest assured it will be wines that we believe will complement and add diversity to our clients existing portfolios," says chief wine buyer Arlene King.

The wines will, of course, meet the usual criteria and be of the same caliber; blue chip premier wines with proven track records of growth, renowned reputations and good secondary market demand. Regions such as Burgundy and Tuscany (Super Tuscans) will now be available to its clients.

The history of Burgundy is widely known and most investors are aware that it is as highly regarded as Bordeaux, both in quality and market performance. Tuscany however, has performed strongly for several years now and offers proven diversification benefits. Super Tuscan 50 Index (composed of the last ten vintages of Masseto, Tignanello, Sassicaia, Ornellaia and Solaia) has outperformed the Liv-ex 50 since June 2007, seeing a five-year return of 76%, up to June 2012. This year alone investors have seen some wines move as much as 15%, and the year is young!

BWC believes that due to its company's structural dynamics they are able to adapt to changing economic climates and thus can broaden its services to the benefit of investing clients. Clearly they are moving with the times and intend to be here for another 10 years.
