BEDFORD, NH, May 17, 2013

Sarasota photographer, H.D. Hasselbarth, is included in the 2013-2014 issue of 'Who's Who in Visual Art - 75 Fine Art Photographers.' Hasselbarth is nationally renowned as a fine-arts photographer and is shown in galleries and museums throughout the world. In January of this year, Hasselbarth's work, along with other Florida photographers, was shown at the South Florida Museum in the 'Walk Far, Look Deeply' exhibition depicting natural Florida settings.

Having vacationed in Florida since childhood, Hasselbarth is well-acquainted with the development and changes in environment affecting Florida. Like the landscapes she studies, her pieces document the transition from wetlands to concrete in a personal, sometimes visceral point of view.

Art Domain's 'Who's Who in Visual Art' is exclusively dedicated to the field of the Fine Arts, including Fine Art Photography. The editor, Ulrich Goette Himmelblau, researched thousands of contemporary fine-art photographers to bring together artists who are "demonstrating great creativity in their application of photographic means and their exploration of different ways of digital processing as forms of artistic expression." Ulrich Goette Himmelblau, editor, is founder of the Palm Art Award Art Award. He has over 20 years experience as a curator and gallery owner. In Germany, he is regarded as a connoisseur of the contemporary art scene and also a savvy collector of art.

"It's wonderful to have been selected from such an accomplished pool of artists and to have the opportunity to work with an outstanding publication like Art Domain. I am very honored by it," says Hasselbarth about the complicated selection process. The book is currently available through AbeBooks.com.

Hasselbarth attributes her creativity to having a curiosity and wonder about the world. She eschews television and prefers reading. Her research in Asian philosophies and art is often reflected In her photographs. One of her favorite sayings is, "Behind every photograph, there is a story." Her photographs capture the 'moment,' but she leaves the visual plot and ending for the viewer to decide.

In her work, Hasselbarth assumes a neutral gaze and creates her art from commonplace subjects: a lone figure on the beach, an empty chair, a red shirt, the village hotel. Like the life she studies, her pieces run the gamut from solemnly visceral to enchantingly charming.

Hasselbarth was born in Richmond, Virginia; and moved to Florida with her family during her college years. She received a bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and also studied photography at Ringling College of Art and Design.

Her work is displayed in galleries in New Hampshire, Florida, California and New York. Currently, her work is distributed through http://www.ax4u.zenfolio.com; and her work is also viewable on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/aX4u.fotos.
