NEW YORK, NY, June 12, 2013 (Press-News.org) The campaign showcased the brand's exclusive new collection, demonstrating their diversity and defined signature. The collection shot was comprised of dresses, in an eclectic array of colours including eye-popping neons, swimsuits, in mouth-watering confectionary prints, and the perfect holiday picks.
Shooting over two days in three locations, the campaign had the perfect balance between idyllic and attitudinal settings. The first location, opening the campaign, was EsVedra, a rocky mountain off the coast of Ibiza. It was here that the Missguided team got their hands on a vintage red Mustang, previously used for a campaign featuring Kate Moss. The car was the perfect prop for the shoot, emulating the attitude that radiates from both the clothing and the models. Multi-coloured smoke bombs gave a splash of colour to the scenic geography, while the sandy dirt track gave a natural rustic edge, together contributing to the visual success of the campaign.
The island's water park was the next location. Being a fun location where children and adults alike get to relinquish their inhibitions and embrace a fun nature, the location was an ideal spot for replicating the ethos of the brand. The models were filmed indulging in the park's amusements, being shot on inflatables, sliding down tubes and running through the shallows of the wave pool; what better way to highlight Missguided's carefree nature?
The final location of the shoot was a hilltop villa, complete with infinity pool and panoramic views of the island. Together the music and disco balls afloat in the pool, along with the water pistols donned by the models juxtaposed the tranquil set, again developing that Missguided diversity. The team of creative innovates and models remained at the villa from dusk until dawn, shooting the clothes against the sun when at its peak and when it sunk behind the horizon at dusk. Pastel coloured shorts emphasised the tribal prints of the tops they're coupled with whilst the eye-popping neon of a bandeau dress contrasted the blue sky. All the while, the girls' clothes remained the focal point of the shots with their fashion forward allure.
This was Project Ibiza.
