KNOXVILLE, TN, November 03, 2010 (Press-News.org) Gigbid Inc. launches a new website, http://www.gigbid.com, to help match small businesses and unemployed skilled workers with jobs.
The creators of GigBid.com aim to launch a free website that provides consumers, local businesses, and freelance skilled workers a basic online platform from which consumers can post up small jobs, and all users can compete by offering their best price, trade or barter.
Site co-founder Robert Kadunce says, "The idea came to me after a few Craigslist posts in the 'gigs' section turned up a handful of botched home improvement jobs, even from people who had solid references. It was very frustrating to post a 'gig' on Craigslist only to find myself bombarded by random emails, spam and phone calls claiming to offer the best deal and then randomly choosing someone to do the job. The original idea behind GigBid.com was making the process of matching consumers and skilled workers much easier to manage."
On the website anyone is able to post any job that they need done, free of charge, and small businesses, self-employed, or any skilled worker is able to submit a bid on that job, also free of charge. The original poster can then review these bids and select who they would like to perform the work based on their own personal preference. The poster can also leave feedback, in the form of a personal review and rating, for the business or worker that completed that job. Users also have the option to specify whether they are willing to accept trades or barters as well as the ability to suggest providers to other users who have posted jobs.
Gigbid.com seeks to connect skilled workers in need of jobs to consumers in need of the best deal available. "Considering the current state of our economy, it only makes sense to provide local communities with free online resources that help consumers and small businesses network and build better overall relationships. We consider GigBid.com to be the commerce networking website that is well overdue."
