VIENNA, AUSTRIA, February 24, 2014 (Press-News.org) University of Vienna Professor Katharine Sarikakis has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in media governance.

Operating above par for almost a decade and a half, Dr. Sarikakis has found professional success with the University of Vienna. For the past three years, in her capacity as a professor, she serves as the vice director of the Ph.D. program of the faculty of social sciences.

Dr. Sarikakis excels in her field due to her prior experiences in the industry, as well as her educational background, which includes a Ph.D. in public administration and media from Glasgow Caledonian University and a master's degree from Freie Universitat Berlin. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliation with the European Communication Research and Education Association, where she is a member of the executive board. In the near future, Dr. Sarikakis plans to move out of her comfort zone in academia, and focus on working with decision and policy makers from a political and corporate perspective.
