Marianne Späne Honored for 20 Years in Senior Executive Positions

ZUG, SWITZERLAND, March 3, 2014 (Press-News.org) Siegfried Executive Vice President Marianne Späne has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in the pharmaceutical industry.

Marianne Späne has spent more than two decades in senior executive positions with big-name pharmaceutical companies including Schweizerhall and the American Aceto Company. For the past 10 years, she has worked for Siegfried, where she is tasked as a member of the executive board with global strategic and operational business development, market intelligence, leading turnaround management and developing global business responsibilities. An expert in marketing, sales and finance, Ms. Späne is a strong leader with an eager willingness to get the company growing by developing new business segments and new territories while keeping existing ones. She has spent many years establishing a comprehensive network within the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. This network consists of professionals involved with the development and manufacturing of intermediates, as well as the development, manufacturing and registration of drug products.

Prior to joining Siegfried, Ms. Späne worked for Boucheron as a site manager. Later on, she developed an interest in the pharmaceutical field and joined the Pharma Division of Schweizerhall as head of its sales marketing department. Following her departure from Schweizerhall, she joined Aceto, a US-based company, where she worked to develop strategies through which the company could expand to Europe.
Ms. Späne exemplifies a rare blend of qualities that combine to form an effective leader. She excels at communication, and is skilled at motivating her teams to work quickly and efficiently. While she sets performance-oriented guidelines that keep teams on track, she also leaves team members the freedom needed to accomplish their tasks without interference. Ms. Späne recognizes each team member's importance to the team as a whole and knows that no individual team member can succeed unless they all do.

For her excellence in the pharmaceutical industry, Ms. Späne has been the recipients of numerous Best Supplier awards from major pharmaceutical companies. A graduate of the KV Zurich Business School, she holds a master's degree in finance, economics and marketing, as well as a degree in performance management from MBSZ. Recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, she also maintains affiliations with the European Fine Chemicals Group (EFCG) and the Society of the Society of Chemical Manufacturer and Affiliates (SOCMA), as well as Swiss Pharma Health Group (SPHG) and the European Pharma Licencing Group (EPLG). In the coming years, Ms. Späne expands the global presence of her business development activities to Asia.
