San Diego Self Storage Company SD Storage Kicks Off Holiday Food Drive

San Diego self storage company SD Storage will be collecting non-perishable food items this holiday season for San Diego Rescue Mission. Donations can be made at any of SD Storage's nine San Diego storage facilities.

2010-11-13
SAN DIEGO, CA, November 13, 2010 (Press-News.org) As the seasons transition from Fall to Winter, with trees slowly shedding their last leaves for the Fall and the weather getting that chilly, familiar nip in the air, it isn't hard to tell that another holiday season is upon us. Over the next few months as people surround themselves with good cheer and celebration, they will say goodbye to 2010 and usher in a brand new year with 2011. For many people this means big family dinners, celebrations, and exchanging gifts with friends and family.

Sadly however, the holidays are not a time of celebration for everyone. Every year, thousands of people experience hardship during the holidays. Many people do not even have the means to supply themselves or their families with a decent holiday meal, especially in the current economic downturn California is experiencing. With the added stress of the holiday season, being able to provide regular daily meals along with a special holiday meal becomes extremely difficult for those who are less fortunate.

While many people will be sitting down with their loved ones this holiday season to enjoy a hot meal, many people will be going hungry because they cannot afford to feed themselves. It is a shame that something as basic as a lack of food can prevent someone from having a happy holiday season. This is not a distant problem that is happening in another country. There are thousands of people in the San Diego community that will be going hungry this year. Fortunately, many people recognize this problem and want to do something about it.

That is why SD Storage is hosting a canned food drive for San Diego Rescue Mission this holiday season. In an effort to help those less fortunate, SD Storage will be accepting donations for this canned food drive from now until the end of the year. If you would like to participate in this charity, you may drop off any canned or non-perishable food items at any one of SD Storage's nine San Diego self storage locations. SD Storage will be accepting a wide range of items such as canned soup, beans, canned pasta dishes, etc.

With the help of the community, the team at SD Storage will try to make this holiday season a memorable one for those in need. It is amazing what donating just one can of food can do for someone's Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or New Year. Just think if everyone in San Diego donated one can of food each, together they could feed hundreds of hungry people this year. Past food drives have been very successful, and SD Storage expects this year to be no different. However, none of this is possible without the help of the public donations. Members of the community can help SD Storage make this holiday food drive successful by donating whatever they can spare.

Anyone can make a difference in someone's life today. To find a SD Storage donation drop off location near you, visit http://www.SDStorage.com/locations.
