TORONTO, ON, March 22, 2014 (Press-News.org) March 20, 2014_Sonorous Entertainment is keyed up and ready to announce the first release in its new "Gospel Roots" series. The "Gospel Roots" series is original, historical, and inspirational. Each artist featured in this series embodies the spiritual soul of Gospel Music. The first artist in this series Rev. James Cleveland certainly embodies all that is rooted in the traditions of gospel music.
Rev. James Cleveland, "the King of Gospel" a driving force behind the creation of modern gospel sound was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Cleveland began singing as a boy in the Pilgrim Gospel Church Choir, lead by Thomas A. Dorsey. A strain to his vocal chords as a teenager not only gave him his distinctive gravelly voice but allowed him to focus on other skills as pianist, composer and arranger. With such a combination of talent he would continue to work with, and for some of the most influential gospel musicians such as Albertina Walker "The Queen of Gospel". For his pioneering contributions and accomplishments Rev. James Cleveland is regarded as one of the greatest gospel singers of all time.
On this twelve track album you will experience the music that is Rev. James Cleveland. From the original HOB catalog you will experience the sound of such hits as "Get Right Church" and "Something's Got a Hold on me". Enjoy Rev. James arrangement on "Old Time Religion" in which he uses his talents as arranger by giving this traditional gospel song a modern sound and beat.
"Gospel Roots" featuring Rev. James Cleveland is now available internationally via major online retail outlets.
The core of our vision is to introduce inspirational music by partnering with artists and empowering them to reach the world with a life changing message. It's not entertainment for entertainment sake, but rather entertainment with a greater purpose. Sonorous Entertainment desire is to create a "movement" that would reach to all corners of the Earth. Not a movement that would be a faith-based "subculture," but rather something that would be of benefit and influence to all people, no matter their perspective.
