SimplyCast Responds To The Heartbleed Bug

SimplyCast responded to the Heartbleed bug quickly to ensure the safety and security of our software for our customers.

2014-04-12
DARTMOUTH, NS, April 12, 2014 (Press-News.org) SimplyCast.com, a global leader in multi-channel marketing Platform-as-a-Service solutions, today announced that the vulnerability dubbed "Heartbleed," which is a security concern for users of OpenSSL, will not affect SimplyCast or its users.
SimplyCast detected the Heartbleed bug on April 7th. By early April 8, TLS heartbeats were disabled on all internet-facing TLS servers. By late April 8th, the company had rolled out the official vendor patches to OpenSSL.

SimplyCast immediately followed best practices by patching all systems and re-keying all certificates on their web servers. At no time were SimplyCast's SSL or Code-Signing roots and intermediates at risk, nor was there ever an issue with SimplyCast certificates.

OpenSSL is a popular cryptographic library used to digitally scramble sensitive data as it passes to and from computer servers so that only the service provider and the intended recipients can make sense of it.

"Our team acted quickly to make sure our systems were safe and secure," said Saeed El-Darahali, President and CEO of SimplyCast. "All clients of our Customer Flow Communication platform can rest assured that we are monitoring the situation around the clock."

SimplyCast 360 is a marketing automation solution designed to reduce manual tasks while allowing organizations to communicate with their customers and clients in a highly targeted way that was previously unavailable on the market.
