SIGVARIS, The Global Leader in Compression Socks and Committed DVT Prevention Advocate, Announces Partnership with PGA TOUR Superstore

SIGVARIS' Newest Active Therapy Product, Cotton Golf Socks, hits store shelves at PGA TOUR Superstore!

2010-11-20
PEACHTREE CITY, GA, November 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) SIGVARIS, the global leader in medical compression therapy and committed DVT prevention advocate, is proud to announce its newest product in the Active Therapy Line - the Cotton Golf Socks, which are available starting today at PGA TOUR Superstore located in Roswell (Ga.), Scottsdale (Ariz.), Chandler (Ariz.), Naples (Fla.) and two locations in Plano (TX).

In addition to SIGVARIS' partnership with PGA TOUR Superstore, golf followers will be excited to learn that the women's Cotton Golf Sock box, features LPGA's Brittany Lincicome, who officially endorses SIGVARIS' Cotton Golf Socks. "I find the SIGVARIS Cotton Golf Socks to be an awesome product for helping me improve my game. They energize my legs and allow my legs to feel just as rested on the 18th fairway as they were on the first," she says.

Lincicome is not the only golfer sporting the Cotton Golf Socks. In a field study of professional and recreational golfers, 86 percent of participants said their legs and/or ankles felt less tired and achy after wearing these socks, and more than 95 percent said they would recommend these socks to a fellow golfer. In addition, 50 percent of the participants stated that their legs and/or ankles appeared less swollen at the end of the golf round when wearing SIGVARIS Cotton Golf Socks.

"We are honored to be teaming up with PGA TOUR Superstore to help get this product in the hands of golfers across the United States," says Jason Kern, SIGVARIS product manager for North America.

A growing trend among competitive athletes is the use of compression therapy socks to help improve their game. Wearing true graduated compression, compression that is tightest at the ankle, during and after exercise or competition can help flush out lactic acid and provide symptomatic relief of delayed onset leg muscle soreness. "Golfers legs will become less tired during a round of golf which should equate to better golf scores," Kern adds.

SIGVARIS, through the Active Therapy line of socks, has several strategic partnerships in place with established endurance sports organizations in North America, including: Road Runner's Club of America (RRCA), USProTri, Southern Crescent Cycling Club, Cross Country Canada (CCC-skiing), and the New Jersey NETS. In addition, SIGVARIS has partnerships in place with the Indianapolis Colts and the Atlanta Falcons for the 2010-2011 seasons. SIGVARIS is supplying both NFL teams with socks for training, practice and travel.
