Hotels-London.co.uk - Experience the New Year's Day Parade During a London Break

The New Year's Day Parade has been "polished up" to celebrate its silver anniversary, according to its founder.

2010-12-04
LONDON, ENGLAND, December 04, 2010 (Press-News.org) The New Year's Day Parade in London is celebrating its 25th anniversary and is set to feature 10,000 performers, it has been claimed.

Founder and executive director of the event Bob Bone made his comments ahead of the joyous event taking place - naturally - on January 1st 2011.

Travellers with hotel London bookings will be in for a treat this time around, according to Mr Bone, since the show has been "polished up" to mark the festival's silver anniversary.

"From our humble beginnings with a few hundred performers - we are now recognised as the biggest event of its kind anywhere in the world - with 10,000 entertainers giving London a wonderful spectacle," he said.

Anyone staying at city centre accommodation such as The Savoy Hotel London can catch the carnival-like march in various spots across the capital, as it starts at 12:00 GMT and winds its way through Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and many other landmarks before ending up at Big Ben.

The occasion is free to attend and people will have the chance to see acrobats, dancers and musicians brave the cold to entertain residents and tourists.

There will also be a series of related concerts held in the city between December 29th 2010 and January 2011 at a variety of venues.

For more information on this event, visit the VisitLondon website.
