ATLANTA, GA, January 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) Southern Orthopaedic Specialists, a leading Atlanta orthopedic practice, has announced that it will be expanding its service to the Newnan area beginning in January. A full service Atlanta orthopedic practice, Southern Orthopaedic Specialists specializes in all forms of orthopedics, including orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
Beginning on Monday, January 11, 2011, Southern Orthopaedic Specialists will start to see patients in its Newnan office. The office is located in the Piedmont Physicians Group at Newnan Crossing East.
"We couldn't be more enthusiastic about spreading our services to the Newnan area," explains Dr. Michael Behr, Board Chair of Southern Orthopaedic Specialists. "At Southern Orthopaedic Specialists we believe in providing the best orthopaedic care to as many people as possible. With this expansion, we will be able to serve a greater range of patients."
Appointments can be made at the Newnan office for Mondays and Wednesdays, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Two Atlanta orthopedic doctors from Southern Orthopaedic Specialists will be available on these days on a rotating basis. Dr. Michael Behr will see patients on Mondays while Dr. Sharrona Williams will see patients on Wednesdays.
Dr. Behr has been in practice for over 17 years. He is Board Certified and specializes in arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement, in addition to orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He serves as the team physician for Sandy Creek High School and is a sideline physician for the annual Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta.
Dr. Williams is a former collegiate basketball player who specializes in orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, and foot and ankle disorders. She is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and completed a Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.
At Southern Orthopaedic Specialists, doctors handle patients with care, always keeping their best interest in mind. Whether it's a sports injury or everyday joint pain, Southern Orthopaedic Specialists will diagnose the problem and work with the patient through treatment and recovery.
