LateRooms.com - See Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart Perform in Madrid

Jamie Stewart from Xiu Xiu will play an intimate show in Madrid in February.

2011-01-06
MADRID, SPAIN, January 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) A rare opportunity to see Jamie Stewart play in an intimate setting is coming up in Madrid in the new year.

The Xiu Xiu singer is well known for his dark and moody lyrics, which tend to focus on topics such as sex, violence and guilt.

Fans may be inspired to book Madrid hotels to see the vocalist perform at Madrid's Nasti venue, with just 150 people set to be part of the audience on the night.

The gig will take place on February 4th and will see Stewart play a selection of tracks by Xiu Xiu, the band he has fronted since 2002.

"This show is a unique opportunity to see one of the most controversial musicians of the moment, who some compare to iconoclasts like Dennis Cooper and Ian Curtis," remarked the organisers.

His music tends to combine experimental noises from 8-bit video game consoles with other unusual sounds, while his haunting vocals add an even darker note to the songs.

For Xiu Xiu's latest album - Dear God, I Hate Myself - Stewart and his bandmates utilised a Nintendo DS to create soundscapes.

Tickets are sure to sell out fast for the gig, but anyone lucky enough to get their hands on one will need to pay EUR10 (GBP8.65).

Stewart is set to begin his performance at 21:30 local time.

For more information on this event, visit the Nastri website or contact the venue on +34 91 521 76 05.
