HOUSTON, TX, January 07, 2011 (Press-News.org) 2010 ended on a high note for rising recording artist Alkendria. The inspirational singer/actress performed for sold out audiences this past holiday season as part of the cast to the hit musical "Cinderella", presented by the African American Shakespeare Company. She now exits the stage temporarily and returns to the studio to finalize her upcoming CD project.
Cinderella the stage play, which concluded December 28, was originally scheduled from November 16 through December 26. Due to demand, several shows were added which resulted in the production being held over twice. The impending new play line-up and performance season at the Houston Ensemble Theatre seems to have been the only thing capable of stopping the show. It accomplished what limited seating and sold out performances could not and that was, "to bring this spectacular production to a close." The imaginary tale of Cinderella may have ended for Alkendria but "Liberation" awaits.
Alkendria has transitioned from the stage back to the recording studio to put the finishing touches on her sophomore CD project entitled "Liberation". She plans to announce a special engagement and the project release date this Valentines Day 2011.
