GARDEN GROVE, CA, January 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) Artistic Cosmetic Solutions received the distinction of being named "Best of the West in Permanent Makeup" for the three Orange County cities of Garden Grove, Stanton, and Westminster, CA.
Twelve years ago the Garden Grove Journal started a contest asking readers to tell what they thought were the best restaurants, stores, and services in Garden Grove. After a year's absence in 2009, the contest expanded to include Stanton and Westminster and was renamed "The Best of the West" referring to all three cities.
Artistic Cosmetic Solutions strives for excellence in permanent cosmetics. Having won the "Best of Garden Grove" award in 2008, owner Dr. Laura Reed explains, "The Best of the West Award now represents three cities with a combined population of over 310,000. I'm honored that patients from those communities have recognized the high quality standards of my unique practice."
Dr. Reed has established a reputation for creating natural looking, flattering, and custom-designed permanent makeup. "My patients know I care about them and what they want because I ask for their input and don't rush," she says. "They call me a perfectionist after seeing that I take the time to do procedures correctly without cutting corners."
An advocate for patient safety and comfort, Dr. Reed uses the most advanced techniques and equipment. She utilizes hypoallergenic mineral pigments to prevent allergic reactions and superior topical anesthetics for painless procedures. "California does not require a license for permanent cosmetics, so I see awful looking permanent makeup done by poorly trained or careless technicians. Even more alarming are the reports I'm told about severe pain or infection," says Dr. Reed. "Until laws are changed, my passion is to educate women to be smart consumers." She adds, "I ask prospective patients that even if they don't choose me, to please follow the consumer guidelines on my website for choosing a professional wisely." Dr. Reed is one of few health care professionals nationwide specializing in permanent cosmetics and performs all procedures herself. An artist and licensed Doctor of Optometry, she is recognized by the medical community and has many nurses and physicians as patients. Artistic Cosmetic Solutions follows CDC and OSHA infection control guidelines and is inspected annually by the Orange County Department of Health. The Best of the West award reinforces what her patients already know about combining beauty, comfort, and safety in permanent makeup - that Dr. Laura Reed really is the best in the west.
