Capital Safety Announces Acquisition of the Technical Institute of Training in Height

Company strengthens training offerings in Europe

2011-01-13
RED WING, MN, January 13, 2011 (Press-News.org) Capital Safety, home of the DBI-SALA and PROTECTA brands of fall protection equipment, today announced the acquisition of the Technical Institute of Training in Height (ITFH,) a leading training at heights company in France. ITFH has been a specialist in training at height since 2001 and has a portfolio of 54 training programs. These programs are designed for a broad array of end users and vertical markets including rope access, wind energy, utilities, construction, scaffolding and fundamentals of fall protection. With a team of 11 qualified instructions, ITFH conducts training throughout France at customer sites as well as in their two state-of-the-art training centers in Nanterre and Lyon.

Through this acquisition, Capital Safety will continue to grow its training business, which took a significant step forward last April through the acquisition of TAG Safety, a leading U.K.-based training business. The two training centers of ITFH will bring Capital Safety's global footprint to 14 training centers from which they are able to provide at height, hands-on and classroom training to customers in a variety of simulated work settings.

"As global leaders in fall protection, we hold a responsibility to continue to educate workers on the use and awareness of equipment that will save their lives,"

said Anders Pettersson, CEO of Capital Safety. "Expanding our training programs and making more people aware of the tools that prevent an injury while working at height is a cornerstone of our strategy. ITFH will continue to grow the services we are able to offer our European customers as well as expand our abilities to support key international customers with a consistent training offering."

"Joining a great group such as Capital Safety provides ITFH the opportunity of commercial expansion as well as a broader influence to instruct more workers on height safety," said Lionel Ortunez, manager of ITFH. "Capital Safety's brands and their leading innovative products will be very exciting to be partner with. This acquisition is recognition of our expertise in the field and will enable us to extend our offering of training and as a group, continue to push the industry forward."

Capital Safety, one of the world's leading manufacturers of fall protection, confined space and rescue equipment, with 12 operating sites worldwide and a passionate commitment to quality, innovation and safety, is home of the DBI-SALA and PROTECTA brands. All of Capital Safety's fall protection and rescue systems are backed by extensive training, knowledgeable technical assistance and professional customer service.
