DUSSELDORF, GERMANY, January 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) A unique and thrilling spectacle lies in store for people making Dusseldorf hotel reservations for Rock the Ballet next month.
The German city's Capitol Theater is due to host the show, which combines the grace and discipline of traditional ballet with a soundtrack of classic rock songs, from Wednesday February 23rd to Sunday February 27th.
Created by director and principal dancer Rasta Thomas in 2008, Rock the Ballet is a dynamic and innovative production that has been performed in front of sell-out crowds around the world.
Thomas has described the show as "a new type of ballet for the 21st century", with the dancers' choreography set to hit tracks by the likes of U2, Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Queen and Michael Jackson.
Starring Thomas's company the Bad Boys of Dance, Rock the Ballet has already been seen by more than 100,000 people in Europe.
According to the show's website, members of the audience in Dusseldorf should expect a "passionate, fiery affair" when they find their seats and settle down to be entertained.
Rock the Ballet is said to "stretch the bounds of dancing with athletic jumps, endless turns and endearing individuality".
Thomas studied at one of the most prestigious dance schools in the US, the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington DC, before going on to perform on Broadway and appear at the Academy Awards.
Tickets for the Dusseldorf shows are available for EUR37.90 (GBP32.30), with the performances due to begin at 20:00 local time.
