The ensemble will be joined by acclaimed piano soloist Nikolai Demidenko for a concert at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro on Tuesday March 8th 2011.

As the official musical ambassador of the European community, the EUCO plays up to 70 concerts around the world each year, performing pieces from the 17th century right up to the present day.

For the Cornwall recital, the orchestra's repertoire is set to feature works by Elgar, Mozart, Haydn and Liszt.

Russian-born musician Demidenko has appeared on stage with major orchestras around the world, including the Halle and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

Having studied under Anna Kantor at the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow, he gained British citizenship in 1995 and has been praised by critics for his virtuosity and musical vision.

Tickets for the concert in Cornwall, which will begin at 20:00 GMT, are priced between GBP17.50 and GBP22.
