Q1 Productions Hosts Early-Stage Clinical Research: Accelerating Proof of Concept Conference

Ensuring a cohesive scientific and business approach to early-phase clinical research to ensure the development of safe and effective new therapies.

2011-02-09
CHICAGO, IL, February 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Early-Stage Clinical Research: Accelerating Proof of Concept Conference will feature two days of panel discussions and case study presentations from executives from leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. From sessions focusing on the development of new chemical entities and benefit / risk ratios of moving forward, to case studies on subject recruitment, through to licensing strategies, this two day conference will balance the scientific and business strategies required to truly succeed in the pharmaceutical industry.

Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies are facing increasing challenges as they work to bring their new therapies safely and quickly to the market; pressure from patent expiration and increasing competition are only two of many hurdles that organizations face, resulting in increased pressure on drug development teams to discover and commercialize therapies more quickly.

A critical juncture in the drug development process focuses on moving from pre-clinical testing into proof of concept and phase II clinical studies; it is during this critical time that many products are put through a rigorous go / no go process resulting in a decision regarding their future.

While companies certainly want to ensure that the most resources are supporting the strongest possible candidates, there is also a need to balance the risk of products not ultimately meeting regulatory and commercialization goals during their trials. Maintaining a number of different products throughout the drug development cycle will help to ensure a stronger overall pipeline, and ultimately success for the company and their share-holders.

Registration is for the 2011 Early-Stage Clinical Research Conference is now available.
