LateRooms.com - Aleksandr Deineka Show Poised to Open in Rome

Rome's Palazzo delle Esposizioni will host the first ever monographic Aleksandr Deineka exhibition outside of Russia.

2011-02-18
ROME, ITALY, February 18, 2011 (Press-News.org) Art lovers may want to set aside some time to visit the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, as the work of Russian artist Aleksandr Deineka is set to go on display.

Running from February 19th to May 1st 2011, the exhibition will showcase a selection of the 20th century painter's finest pieces.

It will be the first monographic presentation of the artist's work to be held outside of Russia.

Arguably the Soviet Union's most famous realist painter, Deineka is widely praised for the formal and aesthetic research so evident in his art.

According to the venue, there is added significance in the exhibition being held in Rome, since he made a study trip to the Eternal City in 1935 and created some of his best work there.

Opening hours at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni are from 10:00 local time until 20:00 on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 22:30 on Friday and Saturday. It is closed on Monday.

Admission costs EUR12.50 (GBP10.50).

There is a wide variety of 5 star hotels in Rome that art enthusiasts could stay in, with LateRooms.com recommending accommodation such as the Sheraton Roma Rome.

Find out more about the exhibition at http://english.palazzoesposizioni.it/ or ring the arts space on +39 06 399 67500.
