Hotels-London.co.uk - Pope Benedict XVI to Attend Open Air Vigil of Prayer in London's Hyde Park

Plenty of worshippers are sure to turn out for an open air vigil being led by the Pope.

2010-09-08
LONDON, ENGLAND, September 08, 2010 (Press-News.org) An open air vigil is set to be one of the highlights of Pope's Benedict's upcoming London visit, which will also see the religious figure meet with local Christians.

Travellers booked in at Hyde Park hotels may be eager to take part in the religious event and the location of their accommodation will put them in a great position to do so.

The Pope will be in the UK for four days this month, from Thursday September 16th to Sunday September 19th, but he will spend the first day in Scotland and the last in Birmingham.

During the Holy Father's time in the English capital, he has a packed schedule, with trips to St Mary's University, Lambeth Palace, Westminster Hall and Westminster Abbey all arranged on the Friday.

These visits will see him spend time with a mixture of religious officials and members of various congregations.

On Saturday, Pope Benedict will hold mass at Westminster Cathedral before heading to Hyde Park for the open air vigil.

Organisers of the occasion revealed that the theme of the visit is Cor ad cor loquitur, which means heart speaks unto heart.

They noted: "[It] is a fitting choice for this papal visit as, on the final day of his Apostolic Journey, the Holy Father will beatify Cardinal Newman - the much-loved Victorian theologian."
