CARLSBAD, CA, March 11, 2011 (Press-News.org) Manufacturing Digital brings you extensive coverage of the Oscar ceremony of the materials handling industry, the Fork Lift Truck Awards 2011.
Now in its seventeenth year, the annual Fork Lift Truck Awards ceremony, took place on Saturday 12, February and was presented by BBC Radio 2's Sally "Traffic" Boazman.
The awards are hosted by the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA), which maintains and raises standards in the materials handling industry. It is the most representative body of its kind in Europe.
There are currently 11 categories in the awards ceremony, which range from Apprentice of the Year to the Safety Site and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
However, the 'Pick of the Year' product categories, which consist of Environment, Ergonomics, Safety and Innovation, are the most hotly contested awards and this year was no exception with a record number of finalists vied for the top spot.
Martyn Fletcher, Chairman, FLTA said: "In responding to the real issues facing fork truck users, each of our 'Pick of the Year' finalists and winners represents a significant advance in ensuring materials are moved more safely, more efficiently and with less impact on the environment."
